Dabbous is built with privacy as a core principle. We believe your location data is deeply personal and should never leave your device without your explicit choice.
All locations, photos, notes, and coordinates you save in Dabbous are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not operate any servers or databases. We have no ability to access, read, or retrieve your data.
Dabbous does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or sign in with any service. There is no user registration of any kind.
When you share a location, you choose the app and the recipient. Dabbous generates a shareable message containing the location details and passes it to the sharing app you select (WhatsApp, iMessage, etc.). We are not involved in or aware of any sharing activity.
Photos you attach to locations are stored on your device only. They are compressed locally to reduce storage usage. Photos are only included when you explicitly choose to share a location.
We use TelemetryDeck for anonymous, privacy-friendly analytics. TelemetryDeck does not collect personal data, does not use cookies, and does not track users across apps. We receive only aggregate usage statistics such as how many times the app was opened or a location was saved. No personally identifiable information is ever collected or transmitted.
Dabbous requests access to your location only when you add a new place, to center the map on your current position. Location data is used locally and is never transmitted to any server. You can deny location access and manually set coordinates instead.
Dabbous uses Apple Maps for map display and address search. Apple's privacy policy governs their handling of map data. We do not integrate any other third-party services, SDKs, or advertising networks.
Dabbous does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. Since we collect no personal data from any user, this applies equally to all ages.
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete any location at any time within the app. Uninstalling the app removes all data permanently.
